Athens, January 12 (MIA) - Greek PM Kostas Karamanlis will hold Monday extraordinary meeting with Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and Defence Minister Evangelos Meimarakis and will discuss frequent Turkish jet fighters provocations in the Aegean Sea, media in Athens reported.
Last week the Greek government has already filed protesting note to the NATO and the EU against Ankara’s provocations in the region.
Turkish fighter jets violated Greek airspace, harassing a military aircraft searching for a boat loaded with illegal immigrants in the Aegean Sea.
Turkey and Greece have longstanding territorial and other disputes. Greece claims a 10 nautical-mile air exclusion zone over its territory, including islands close to the Turkish coast. Turkey recognises only a six nautical-mile zone. sk/fd/9:11
