Skopje, January 15 (MIA) - There is moral deficit in Greece when referring to Macedonia's name. Although Greek rhetoric has changed in the past few months, there is no essential shift in the country's position, said Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki on Friday.
"The European Union revealed a serious budget deficit in Greece, but unfortunately it cannot reveal a moral deficit", assessed FM Milososki.
He added that such moral deficit would continue to cause headaches, but Macedonia would resume its efforts in finding a compromise solution that meets the country's national interests, but also protects the dignity of Macedonian citizens.
"At the moment, Greece feels powerful and there are no indicators which demonstrate greater constructiveness in their stance, but we will not give up. Neighbors are very important and Macedonia will do everything in its power to nurture good relations with all neighbors", stated Milososki at the ceremony of presenting Bulgaria's former President Zhelyu Zhelev Macedonia's with highest state recognition, Order "September 8".
Pertaining to relations with Bulgaria and its support to Macedonia's Euro-integration, FM Milososki said the two countries had room for enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
"I believe there is quite a large room for improvement of bilateral relations, but the construction of Corridor 8 is more important than history", emphasized Milososki.
According to him, there would always be certain disagreements and historic disputes in the region, as well as politicians who live their political life through manipulation in lack of productive ideas.
"However, the important thing is that the communication established between Skopje and Sofia is a good prerequisite for dialogue on all important topics", underlined Milososki. ik/fd/15:02
